To those who say people will whine. People will always whine. Unfortunately it is the nature of the "vocal" proportion of the gaming population.
Before people start putting the idea down as only 0.000x% will use it - think about what is happening now. There are a lot of new players who don't have some of the campaigns, but have EotN. I think there are a lot of players who would take advantage of this - furthermore it can act as another marketing tool, AND in-game: Here is a cool skill, if you buy this game you can use it, click here to go to the store to purchase.
So skill caps do take a lot of time. For someone who doesn't want to have to go back and repeat a whole list of boss kills, this idea makes sense. Of course this is a problem unique to EotN. So it doesn't have far reaching consequences. Might be an interesting mechanic to test for GW2 though, no?
The game is rated at 13+ because 13 year olds should be able to read and comprehend simple instructions and warnings. If they are not old enough to read and comprehend something so simple, they should not be playing the game.

For a generally decent idea.
Aside: GWG is notorious for complaints in this forum. Sure there are a LOT of dumb ideas raised and they get buried quickly, but even when an ok or good one comes along they continue to flame. Kudos to the OP for trying to keep things on track.

Money-sink is a term used to denote a game mechanic that helps to control the inflation rate and in-game economy. Without various money-sinks, the developers would have no viable means of introducing money into, or removing excess coin from, the game's economy. This would eventually lead to a complete breakdown of the economic sub-systems. In a game like World of Warcraft, which is primarily driven by a player-created economy, this could have catastrophic effects.
This term is also used somewhat derogatorily by players to denote any in-game sub-system that might be what they consider exorbitantly expensive, from a cost-effectiveness point of view. For instance, personal mounts are quite expensive. Some might call that game mechanic a money-sink. The same generally applies to player-housing in some form or fashion. In many MMORPGS, player-housing is so expensive that the average player could not afford it until later levels, no matter their actual need to have a central port for anchoring alts, entertaining friends, larger vaults, etc.
In general terms, think of anything on the luxury side of one's in-game life as a money-sink.

Nothing there to make me cry.

Sure, you want to save time, BUT:
-> You say you prefer NOT having to cap it later, meaning you WOULD/WILL do it anyways, meaning you DO have the time... You even have the time to post here, so don't start with the: "I don't have alot of time", because you do...
-> "Game should be about fun, not "shores" (Having to cap it again later), this is a mere customer-satisfaction update"
Ok, when you tell THAT to Anet, tell them aswell there is over 1000 people in the PvP-section of GWGuru that are DYING to tell their idea's to Anet for over 2 Years now...

It isn't your place to decide what the designers should or shouldn't be working on. The community has a right to bring ideas forward, and if enough interest is shown let them decide if it's worth it.
You don't know anything about me so don't try to tell me how much time I have. I hold down a full time job that just happens to put me in front of a computer all day, and things are a little slow this week, hence all my posts. On top of that I have a family to go home to every night, and the joy to spend time with. I'm lucky to to get 4 hours of game time in during a given week. Don't make assumptions.
It's not my place to defend things that I'm not familiar with. I don't do PvP, so if you want something supported there make your own thread, and you can tell Anet there "is" over 1000 people when they all sign it.
You've made your opinion clear, stop posting here.

I actually think that because you own GWEN - then you should be able to cap the skills of the bosses in GWEN period.

I am in favor that GWEN Elite skill become linked to GWEN so that someone owning GWEN can capture Elite in GWEN. That is only fair! (i have already all elite).

This.
If they're going to build half the expansion with the CTRL-C CTRL-V method of "programming" the least they could do is actually let you use the crap they duplicated. I have all the games so I didn't even realize you can't cap those skills. That's pretty crummy.

I'd like to think that perhaps this was an oversight. Of course there's no problem with having skills unlocked that you yourself cannot use; that's the result of a trial key. The OP makes a reasonable suggestion, and you should be able to cap skills from campaigns you don't own. You just can't use them until you buy the campaign. Kudos to the OP for sticking through all the people who post rather nasty things. You have my support, at least.

There are no GW:EN elite skills. It's an expansion, it requires at least another campaign.
